Advice For Travellers

Travellers should be aware of the political tensions surrounding the possible impeachment of the president of Brazil, and that spontaneous or unexpected protests could occur in any location.

To minimize safety risk, always avoid areas of large public gatherings or protests. Leave an area if tension begins to develop between groups. Even peaceful situations can quickly and unexpectedly escalate into violent confrontations.
