Protesters in Beirut injured as police aggressively disperse garbage protest

At least 75 protesters were reported injured today in downtown Beirut at a protest about the government’s inability to solve the ongoing garbage crisis. Police used tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds, which included women and children.
