Taxi drivers have protested against Uber in Johannesburg, and authorities are concerned about the potential for more protests and violence. In the Sandton area, a passenger was pulled out of an Uber car, and the driver was physically threatened. The meter taxi drivers say that Uber received their taxi license quickly, whereas meter taxi drivers wait for years.
