Protests in Istanbul and other cities in Turkey

After Turkish police detained several politicians representing the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democracy Party, fighting between police and protesters occurred in a number of cities, including Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya. Police fired tear gas to disperse crowds.
Turkish authorities have arrested the leaders of the country’s main pro-Kurdish opposition party.
