Rabies Outbreak results in death in Zambian District

A rabies outbreak in dogs in the Mansa District has resulted in 14 human cases and 1 death.

Travellers are reminded that rabies is a frequent infection in domestic and certain wild animals, including monkeys. Travellers should take all necessary precaution to avoid contact with local domestic and wild animals. If bitten or scratched, medical attention should be sought at once.
