Rare cases of leishmaniasis reported in Tocantins State, Brazil

So far this year, only 35 sporadic cases of leishmaniasis have been reported statewide. Last year, the total was 164 cases, reported by 11 municipalities, including Araguaína, Gurupi, Palmas, Colinas do Tocantins, Sampaio, Miracema do Tocantins, Paraíso do Tocantins, Tocantínia, Xambioá, Dianópolis and Pau D'arco.
