Record number of malaria cases in areas of Limpopo Province, South Africa

In the past 3 months, there has been a record number of malaria cases (765 cases) reported from the Vhembe and Mopane regions. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. There is a risk of malaria throughout the year in Limpopo Province, and anti-malaria medication is recommended.
