Reported cases of hand, foot and mouth disease exceed 100,000 in Japan

So far this year, there have been 133,802 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) reported in Japan. Most of the cases have occurred in Tokyo. Travellers who are travelling with small children who are most susceptible to infection with this virus can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) virus by frequent hand washing and maintaining careful personal hygiene.
