Reports confirm spread of typhoid fever epidemic beyond capital city

Reported cases of typhoid fever have increased to 200 new cases every week. Cases have now been reported from Kuwadzana, Mufakose and Crowborough.

Travellers to these areas can reduce their risk of exposure to typhoid fever by being cautious and avoiding consuming contaminated food or water. Vaccination against typhoid fever should be considered, especially if unsafe food cannot be avoided.
