Reports of polio continue in Pakistan in 2015

So far this year, Pakistan is the only country that has reported cases of polio. There have been 4 new cases in the past week (2 in Khyber agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, 1 in Killa Abdullah district of Balochistan province and 1 in Tank district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The total number for this year is 13.

While the risk of exposure for travellers is low, travellers in any country that reports cases of polio can avoid any risk of exposure to polio virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including polio, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
