Riots continue in London and spread to Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, UK

Riots and looting have spread to new areas of London while new outbursts occurred in the cities of Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol as Britain's worst violence in decades extended into a third night.

Nine police were injured in several parts of London. Police arrested more than 160 people across London in a weekend of mayhem. The situation seems to be caused by opportunistic looting and violence by so-called petty criminals in neighborhoods marked by high unemployment and cuts in public services.

Travellers should be aware of the risk of sudden violence and exercise extreme caution by avoiding demonstrations and groups of roving bands of looters.
