Risk of malaria continues in Venezuela

During the past year, in the absence of official statistics, it is estimated that more than 200,000 people were infected with malaria. The disease was found in 17 of Venezuela's 23 states. Due to the severe economic conditions in this country and adverse impacts on disease control programs, the risk of exposure to malaria in this country may be high in many localities.
