Road closures expected to disrupt traffic in Nairobi July 24-26, 2015

The Kenyan Police Service has announced that a number of road closures in Nairobi at various times during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit and the visit of President Barack Obama, scheduled for July 24 to July 26. The road closures will disrupt traffic throughout the city and will have the most impact within the areas surrounding Westlands, the Central Business District, and Kasarani.

The following road closures are expected:

On Friday, June 24, starting at 2:00 p.m., portions of Waiyaki Way, Chiromo Road, and Museum Hill will be closed until late evening. Police checks points will be established near the U.S. Embassy and the United Nations compound that will restrict vehicle access on UN Avenue to official vehicles.

On Saturday, June 25, portions of Haile Selassie Avenue, Moi Avenue, Limuru Road, and Landhies Road will be closed throughout the day.

On Sunday, June 26, portions of Waiyaki Way, Limuru Road, Thika Road, and roads in the vicinity of Moi International Sports Centre Stadium will be closed throughout the day.
