Ross River virus - Australia

Since the beginning of 2011, health authorities have identified 15 cases of Ross River fever in the Barwon south western region in Victoria. The mosquito population has increased due to the unusual amounts of rainfall in Victoria, thus increasing the risk of exposure to this virus.
