Safety advice updated for Kenya

Recently, deadly armed attacks and explosions have occurred in certain areas in Kenya. The threat of kidnapping remains high, and some countries have warned that further attacks are likely. The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the US State Department and others advise against all but essential travel to the following areas: Coastal counties (including Kwale, Kilifi, Mombasa, Lamu) and areas that are 65 kilometers inland along the Tana River, and Tana River County north of the Tana river, specifically, Kiwayu and coastal parts north of Pate Island; the district of Garissa; the Eastleigh part of Nairobi; all low income areas of Nairobi;

Travellers are advised to reconsider their need to travel to Nairobi, and avoid all travel to the Mombasa region, and border areas with South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
