Sectarian violence in Myanmar (Burma)

Sectarian violence between the Muslim Rohingya and Buddhist Rakhines broke out again today in the state of Rakhine when Buddhist rioters killed one person and set fire to more than 70 homes. The violence broke out in Thabyachaing village this afternoon, following clashes that began in the town of Thandwe on Saturday.

Some countries advise their citizens against all but essential travel to Rakhine State with the exception of the tourist resort of Ngapali and travel to and from the resort via the Thandwe airport.
