Sectarian violence in Pakistan

An explosion by a suicide bomber outside a Shiite mosque has killed at least three people and injured two in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Sectarian violence has increased in recent years, mainly Sunni Muslim groups against Shiite Muslims. On February 24, a physician was shot outside the Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. The Australian government issued a warning that this incident might indicate militants have plans to attack hospital facilities.
