Security alert for Cairo, Egypt, until October 9, 2016

The U.S. Embassy in Egypt and other governments have posted a security notice strongly advising citizens to “avoid large gatherings and public spaces, such as concert halls, movie theaters, museums, shopping malls, and sports venues in Cairo through Sunday, October 9, due to potential security concerns.”

Travellers in Cairo should be vigilant and aware of surroundings. If possible, avoid busy public areas.
