Series of deadly earthquakes in southwestern China

A series of 4 earthquakes in southwestern China near the border of the provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou killed at least 67 people and injured 731. More than 6,600 homes were destroyed and about 430,000 damaged. Approximately 100,000 people have been evacuated and another 100,000 are in need of relocation.

Travellers should consider avoiding travelling in the affected areas since essential services, including transportation, may be severely disrupted.
