Serious risk of malaria in Mozambique

The number of cases and deaths due to malaria increased substantially in 2014. In a population of only 25 million, there were almost 5,500,000 reported cases, or about 1 case out of every 4 people in the country. Any traveller to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
