Severe fighting this week in Syria

The past week was marked by intense fighting in Damascus’ suburbs where opposition groups accuse the regime of massacring civilians in sustained bombardments. Fighting continued in Aleppo, around the airport and within the city itself. There are conflicting claims of gains by both sides. Meanwhile, the number of refugees crossing the border into Turkey continues to increase, creating problems for refugee aid groups.

All travel to Syria should be avoided due to the on-going civil war.
