Severe heat wave in Australia

Extreme heat with temperatures in the mid to high 40C degrees were recorded in central Australia. Although there has been some decrease in the temperatures in the interior, cities in parts of Queensland and New South Wales are recording record high temperatures. For example, the Sydney airport registered 42.9C while the city of Adelaide set a record with 3 consecutive days reaching 40C.
