Advice For Travellers

The risk of exposure to malaria is high throughout the country. Officially, there have been 1,300 reported cases admitted to hospitals with 35 deaths nationwide. However, there is massive under-reporting of infected people, and thousands of infections are unnoticed. Travellers to any region in this country can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
