Shigellosis outbreak in New Mexico, USA

The number of reported cases of shigellosis in Lea, Chaves, and Eddy counties has increased to 196 cases during the past 2 months. Most of the cases have been preschool and school-aged children. Investigations into the cause of the outbreak are underway.
