Public health officials are investigating an outbreak of shigellosis involving 25 cases, 2 of whom have been hospitalized. The common source for this outbreak has not yet been identified.

Until the source is identified, travellers in this area should practice careful personal hygiene (e.g., frequent hand washing) and seek medical care is symptoms of shigellosis develop.
