Some clashes of protesters and police leading up to G7 meeting in Germany

Although the demonstrations have been mainly peaceful leading up to the G7 2-day summit to begin tomorrow, there were some clashes between police and protesters that left several people injured.

Travellers in this area should exercise caution and avoid all large public gatherings and demonstrations. More than 22,000 police have been deployed to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. Authorities believe that “significant numbers of extremists” from Germany, Austria, Italy and Britain will be joining the protest groups, and protesters have stated they will disrupt the G7 summit as much as possible.
