Some closures in Banff National Park due to wildfire

A wildfire in Banff National Park has burned close to 7,000 hectares so far. The fire stretches from the northeast boundary to the Saskatchewan Crossing area, along the North Saskatchewan River, Hwy. 93 North, and the slopes of Mt. Murchison. Reports state that the fire is contained at this time, but could spread. There are a number of closures for backcountry areas near Saskatchewan River Crossing. The Icefields Parkway is open between 7 am and 2 pm at this time.
