Some good news regarding the H7N9 avian flu in Hong Kong (update)

Health authorities in Hong Kong have contacted over 200 persons who were in contact with the patient who was hospitalized in critical condition with H7N9 avian virus respiratory infection. Of these, 17 were persons in close contact with the patient and 10 of these lived in the same home. All 10 home contacts were free of symptoms and all had negative lab tests for this virus. This information corroborates the experiences from the outbreak last spring when little, if any, person-to-person spread of this virus was noted.
