South Sudan officials allegedly selling yellow fever certificates at Juba airport

There are reports that yellow fever certificates (cards) can be purchased at the Juba airport without the need for vaccination against yellow fever. Travellers with a fake certificate, who have not been vaccinated, and who go to areas where yellow fever occurs may be at risk of becoming infected with this serious illness.

Visit our Health Library for more information on exposure to and the prevention of Yellow Fever.

Advice For Travellers

Yellow fever is a potentially fatal disease that can be fully prevented by vaccination. Acquiring a yellow fever certificate (card) without the vaccination purely for convenience leaves the traveller unprotected and possibly at risk of acquiring this disease.
