Southern India dealing with heavy rains and flooding

The states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in India, as well as neighbouring Sri Lanka are dealing with effects of heavy rains and flooding. Roads and highways are flooded. In Chennai, one of the worst-hit areas, most main streets are flooded.

Travellers may want to consider delaying travel to these areas. A forecast of continued rain until early next week brings a continued threat for more flooding in the area.
