Sporadic cases of measles in Queensland, Australia

So far this year, 18 cases of measles have been confirmed in the state of Queensland. The latest case has been reported from Ipswich where 9 of the 18 cases have occurred. Travellers are reminded that outbreaks of the highly contagious measles virus can occur anywhere in the world at any time. Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measles virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
