Sporadic plague cases registered in urban Antananarivo, Madagascar

During the last 5 months of 2014, there were 13 cases of plague identified in urban Antananarivo, including the neighbourhoods of Anosibe, Anosimahavelona , 67Ha, Anosizato, Manjakaray, Antanimora and Ankasina. During 2014, there was a major outbreak of plague across the island.

Travellers can reduce the risk of exposure to plague by taking all necessary measures to avoid flea bites in areas where plague commonly occurs.
