State of emergency after flooding in Macedonia

Following the flooding that occurred on August 6 and 7 in Skopje and surrounding areas, a 15-day state of emergency has been declared. The affected areas are Skopje, towns of Kumanovo, Kriva-Palanka and Tetovo, and the settlements of Aracinovo, Singelic, Smilkovci, Stajkovci and Tsreshevo.

Some roads are closed. There is an increased risk of landslides in the northern parts of Macedonia. Follow advice of local authorities and exercise caution.
