Still more politically motivated violence in Pakistan

An bomb was detonated in Lower Dir's Baba Gam village at a political rally of the Pakistan Peoples Party, killing at least 6 people and injuring dozens more. In another incident, a bomb was detonated at a political party rally of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) in Hangu District, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens more, including a provincial candidate. These attacks are designed to disrupt the upcoming elections. There are reports that some of the injured were children returning home from school.

Given the high level of political tension prior to elections, travellers may wish to reconsider travelling to Pakistan at this time.
