Students clash with police in Mexico

Students seized 12 buses in order to travel to the central state of Guerrero to participate in a demonstration against the findings of an official inquiry into the disappearance and deaths of 43 trainee teachers from their college last year. At a road block in the municipality of Tixtla, the police used tear gas to stop them. Eleven officers were reported injured.

Advice For Travellers

The first anniversary of the disappearance of the deceased students will take place on September 26th. Travellers should be cautious and avoid all public and political gatherings since more potentially violent demonstrations may take place.
