Sudden flooding in southern Malawi affects more than 100,000 people

Heavy rains and flooding that began in January have increased to the point where more than 100,000 people in towns and villages have been affected. The town of Chikhwawa has been hard hit during this rainy season. Travellers should exercise caution and avoid affected areas where essential services, including transportation, may be severely disrupted.
