Sudden heat wave in Pakistan kills 140 people

A sudden heat wave over the weekend in Karachi and the Sindh Province has left about 140 people dead, 106 of those deaths since Saturday in Karachi alone. The situation is made worse by power outages that prevent water from reaching consumers. The provincial government has declared a state of emergency at all hospitals.
