Suicide bombing in bus terminal in Jakarta, indonesia

Two suicide bombers detonated explosives packed into pressure cookers at the Kampung Melayu bus terminal on May 24, 2017. The two explosions occurred five minutes apart killing three police officers and injuring 12 others. Authorities are not certain what group is responsible for the attacks but assume the group is likely connected to ISIL.

Exercise caution on public transportation. If possible, avoid police installations and crowded areas. Be cautious during Ramadan as the risk of attacks by Islamist extremist groups increases during Ramadan. Authorities in Indonesia are concerned about a surge in “radicalism.”
