Syrian civil war (update)

The extreme violence caused by the civil war in Syria continues with reports of atrocities committed by both government and rebel forces. Arial bombardment of Damascus and Aleppo has resulted in many civilian casualties. The humanitarian situation worsens as tens of thousands of refugees seek asylum in Turkey and Jordan where relief efforts are stressed. International diplomacy appears to be making no progress in finding a solution to this protracted conflict.

Travellers are advised to avoid all travel to Syria.
