Technical Problem for Border Services Causes Nationwide Airport Delays

A nationwide temporary computer outage affected the U.S. Customs and Border Protection system and caused major delays in airports across the United States today. The systems on the east coast are largely restored, and normal service is slowly being resumed.

Advice

Border officers have been using alternate procedures and continuing to process international travellers. In some locations, wait times at customs are longer than usual. Airports affected include: Seattle, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, New York’s John F Kennedy Airport, and Dulles Airport in the US capital.
