Terrorist attack on tourist hotel in Tunisia

Two gunmen have attacked tourists on a beach near two tourist hotels (one of which is the Riu Imperial Marhaba hotel), in Sousse, Tunisia, killing at least 27 people. Tourist from 6 nationalities were involved. One gunman has been killed. Reports say another has been captured. More deaths are expected.

Travellers should be cautious when visiting Tunisia due to the relatively high threat of unexpected terrorist attacks. While travel to the interior of the country and to border regions with Libya is not advised, it is clear that attacks can occur anywhere, especially at tourist sites.
