Three-Day Shutdown in Oromia State in Ethiopia

Beginning today, towns across Oromia state in Ethiopia will be observing a three-day strike and social media shutdown to protest the state of emergency decree declared by the government on 16 February 2018.

There are reports that shops, businesses and government offices are closed and that transportation may be disrupted. Medical facilities will be open.
