Train Travel Disruption in Northern England

Damage to overhead electric wires on the West Coast Main Line resulted in the cancellation or delay of many long-distance trains in the northwest. Virgin Trains and London Northwestern Railway were affected. Services between Blackpool and London were cancelled, and between Liverpool, Manchester, Crewe and the capital.
