Travellers on Melbourne flight may have been exposed to measles

Health authorities in New Zealand are advising passengers who travelled on Pacific Blue Flight DJ 60 from Melbourne to Christchurch on January 3rd, 2011, that they may have been exposed to measles.

Passengers who were seated in rows 25 to 29 may have been exposed to an infected passenger who was on this flight.

GHNN previously issued an alert for measles exposure aboard a flight between Brisbane and Auckland last January that resulted in a number of secondary infections. Travellers who were on this Pacific Blue flight should be aware that measles is a highly contagious infection. Please refer to the GHNN Diseases Health Library for more information on exposure to and prevention of measles.
