Tropical storm Ernesto may become hurricane as it heads for Yucatan, Mexico

As Ernesto moves west-northwest while dumping heavy rains in Honduras, it may strengthen to become a hurricane. Hurricane warnings were issued for part of the Yucatan's east coast and the entire coast of Belize. Tropical storm watches and warnings were in effect for other parts of the Yucatan, Honduras and the Bay Islands.

Travellers in these areas should monitor local weather reports and warnings and take shelter when necessary.
