Tropical storm MORA impacts Bangladesh

Tropical storm MORA (formerly referred to as tropical storm TWO) reached land between Cox’s Bazar and the port city of Chittagong in Bangladesh, killing at least 3 people and forcing almost 500,000 people to evacuate coastal villages. Camps housing Rohingya refugees from Myanmar reported considerable destruction. Approximately 20,000 houses have been damaged and some residents injured.

If possible, travellers should avoid the affected areas, since essential services, including transportation, have been severely disrupted.
