Tsunami warning downgraded - UPDATE for British Columbia, west coast of US, Hawaii, Alaska

The tsunami warning and watch for the west coast of the United States to Alaska and the coast of British Columbia have been cancelled. The tsunami warning for Hawaii has been downgraded to an advisory.

Travellers are still advised to avoid beaches and low lying areas since non-damaging sea level changes can still occur. Although the advisories are downgraded or cancelled, the water currents can still be dangerously strong. Travellers are advised to monitor local weather and emergency reporting.
