Turkey closes two border crossings with Iran

For security reasons, Turkey has closed two border crossings with Iran’s Razi and Sero border checkpoints in west Azarbaijan province.

Trains between the Turkey and Iran have also been cancelled until further notice.

Advice For Travellers

The Iranian government has advised travellers to avoid traveling to Turkey by land as much as possible. Avoid road travel on roads in this area. Travel only during daylight hours. There have been deadly attacks on Iranian vehicles in these areas bordering Turkey. There is no information on when these border crossings may reopen.

The border crossing of Bazargan is open 24 hours a day.
