Turrialba volcano activity temporarily causes airport closures in Costa Rica

The Turrialba volcano erupted twice yesterday, temporarily closing the Alajuela's international Juan Santamaría Airport and the Pavas San José Tobías Bolaños Airport.

This volcano has been active since May 2016. Due to recent volcanic activity, the Turrialba Volcano National Park is closed. Airports may have temporary, sporadic closures.
