Two separate bombs explode in Baghdad during Eid al Adha religious festival

Two blasts, one targeting an open air market in a Shi'ite neighbourhood and the other a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims to a Baghdad shrine, killed at least 13 people on the second day of the Islamic Eid al Adha religious festival. Baghdad and many parts of Iraq continue to be plagued by random violence making personal security tenuous at best. Travellers should be aware that several countries advise their citizens to avoid all travel to Iraq in light of the volatile political situation and repeated sectarian violence.
